Reading FC : Big week-end in Reading for Racing Club de Rouen !

Arrival and City Visit

On October 18 2024, The young players from Racing Club de Rouen arrived in Reading for what would become a memorable football weekend. The day began with a tour of the city, giving the group a chance to discover its culture and atmosphere before stepping into the footballing side of the trip.

Training Ground Visit and Games

The following day, October 19, players, parents and coaches had the incredible opportunity to visit Reading FC’s training ground and experience their outstanding facilities. The modern complex impressed, providing a glimpse of the professional environment that helps shape top-level footballers.

Later that day, five friendly matches were played between our youth teams and Reading’s. Rouen enjoyed a remarkable series of results: four victories and one draw. The level of play was intense, but the boys showed quality, resilience, and teamwork across all the games. A special mention must go to Reading’s goalkeeper, who truly stood out as a generational talent with an extraordinary performance.

Professional Match Experience

As part of their warm hospitality, Reading FC also invited the delegation to attend a professional match at the Select Car Leasing Stadium. On Saturday, we watched Reading’s first team take on Crawley Town in a thrilling fixture that ended with a convincing 4–1 victory for Reading. Witnessing the atmosphere of a professional English football match was a fantastic way to round off the trip.
