Racing Club de Rouen’s Exceptional Trip to Manchester City !

Racing Club de Rouen experienced a unique and highly educational journey to Manchester, at the heart of one of the world’s most prestigious football academies: Manchester City. This international trip represented a major milestone for the club, with our teams facing Manchester City’s 2014 to 2017 age groups across four high-level matches.

A Memorable Arrival and Full Immersion in the City

Nearly 100 people took part in the trip, including a record 46 players, making this one of the largest delegations in the club’s history. Upon arrival in Manchester, the group settled into their accommodation before enjoying a first discovery of the city.

This initial day allowed players, staff, and families to immerse themselves in the local culture and football atmosphere, strengthening group cohesion and setting the tone for the sporting challenge ahead.

A Day of Elite-Level Competition

On the second day, the teams met early in the morning for an intense football schedule, playing four matches against Manchester City’s academy sides in world-class training facilities.

From a results perspective, Racing Club de Rouen suffered four defeats, but the experience proved invaluable. The intensity, technical quality, speed of play, and tactical discipline encountered offered our young players a true lesson in elite-level football.

Several players stood out during these matches:

• 2016/2017 age groups:
  🔹 Yamine, Mathys, and Medine impressed in midfield with their composure, technical ability, and understanding of the game.
• 2014/2015 age groups:
  🔹 Martin, Zlatko, and Kais showed strong character, game intelligence, and commitment against high-level opposition.

These matches will remain a key reference point in the development of our young players.

To conclude this remarkable trip, the group enjoyed an exceptional visit to the Etihad Stadium, home of Manchester City. From the dressing rooms to pitchside access and behind-the-scenes areas, this unforgettable experience inspired our players and reinforced their ambition to reach the highest level of the game.
